My arms feel like noodles just reading about this.
Nate Carroll, 45 year old man from Wisconsin, just set a new world record for most push ups in a year. The previous Guinness World Record holder was a man named Paddy Doyle, who accomplished doing 1,500,230 push ups in a year in 1989. Carroll broke that record on June 6th after completing 1,500,911 push ups, or around 4,000 push up a day, in 365 days.
Carroll said to accomplish what he did, he woke up at 3:45 am every morning. He did 2,000 push ups before he even left work and then the rest through out the day. A big reason he decided to try and break the world record was to raise money for the Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which supports families of fallen first responders. They have paid off 250 mortgages since 2014. He also wanted to set an example for his three kids that anything is possible if you put in the work.
This video on his Instagram shows him talking about his experience and of course, he sprinkles in a few push ups.
