The Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo this summer and they are allowing fans to attend in a limited-capacity, as long as they stay silent in the stands. The Olympic venues will limit capacity to 50% which is about 10,000 fans per venue. As well as no cheering, fans must wear masks and are being instructed to go home right after the event. It’s easy to understand the logic behind this since no cheering = less particles in the air, but it might look a little weird to have a half empty stadium of people just sitting there silently.
Should they just do without fans all together or should the fans be allowed to cheer on their favorite athletes? Let us know how you feel in the comments!
