Conservationists from WWF and British Antarctic Survey started the ‘Walrus From Space’ research project to keep track of Walrus populations on the Artic coastline and they want your help!
The “job” seems pretty easy if you’re an animal lover and have some free time. All you have to do is scan satellite images taken from space and and count how many walruses are in each picture. The point of this new project is to see how each population is doing without bothering the animals by disrupting their habitat.
Anyone can join the walrus census if you’re willing to take a short online training session!
